Hi, I’m Meredith MacKenzie, MA —
I’m the Founder and Clinical Director of Parallel Wellness, with a side hobby as a PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia.
My teen and early adult years were rooted in Slim Fast and Nutrisystem advertisements and an explosion of body makeover-themed reality television shows. For many years, I was under the spell of diet culture, deep in patterns of disordered eating that eventually turned into binge eating.
From my own binge eating recovery, to providing therapy for women at two community-based eating disorders programs, studying to become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor under the Evelyn Tribole - you could say helping women overcome binge eating is my thing.
I lay the road map and give tools to women who are desperate to stop binge eating, just like you how to want to feel at peace with their bodies — all while truly enjoying the food they eat, without all the shame and guilt.
