Bad body image days are normal. Everyone has them, even people who feel at peace with food. Healing doesn’t mean you always feel confident. It means you know what to do when the hard days come.

You might wake up feeling bloated or tired. Maybe your clothes don’t fit the way you want. Maybe someone made a comment that hit a nerve. These things happen. And they can make your old habits, like starting a new diet, feel tempting.

  • Connect with someone safe. Reach out to a trusted friend, coach, or even your journal to process what you’re feeling.

You can also lean on tools you already trust. Maybe it’s writing in your journal to untangle what you’re feeling. Maybe it’s listening to a favorite podcast or pressing play on a calming playlist. You might even revisit something you wrote or learned on a better day, a reminder that you’ve felt this before and moved through it. These small actions help you build consistency and care, even when things feel hard.

Support isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s part of how to handle bad body image days with more compassion and less urgency to fix.
